Optical networking is fast becoming an integral part of modern data centres and there is a critical requirement for speed, low power and efficiency. The successful and efficient Integration of all the elements required for optical data communication and CMOS computing logic to work together seamlessly brings about its own challenges, including high temperatures, voltage variation and issues with increased power consumption. The use of embedded in-chip monitoring IP can help to optimize the conditions inside these types of high-performance computing and data center chips and improve the performance and reliability of the whole optical network.
