Moortec attended the NMI Industry Summit which took
place on Thursday 19th November at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in
London.

The Summit which was hosted by Derek Boyd, CEO of
the NMI focused on the impacts that Electronic Systems are having on a variety
of industry sectors and what these changes mean for the Electronic Systems
community as a whole. 

Speakers included Keith Williams the VP of
Intelligent Systems from Altran, Malcolm Penn, CEO of Future Horizons, Ian
Phillips, Principal Staff Engineer at ARM, Guillaume d’Eyssautier, Chairman of
Surecore and Tom Carter CTO of Ultrahaptics to name but a few. Baroness
Neville-Rolfe, Minister of State for Intellectual Property also made a short presentation.

After the summit it was time for the NMI Awards which
is the major social and networking event of the year for the UK’s and Ireland’s
Electronic Systems Industry. The NMI presents awards to recognise the
achievements and behaviours that are conducive to a healthy and vibrant
industry in the UK and Ireland. The awards showcase excellence within the
industry rewarding the innovation, expertise and ambition of businesses.

The event provides an excellent opportunity to
build brand awareness, network with industry leaders and meet or host existing
and potential clients.

This year’s awards were presented by Monty Halls.
Monty is broadcaster, speaker, naturalist, former Royal Marine, marine
biologist, travel writer and leadership specialist. He is possibly most
renowned for his BBC Great Escape series in which he lived and worked in remote
parts of the UK and Ireland with his dog-and-best-friend Reuben. Over the last
twenty years, Monty has established a reputation as one of the most
entertaining and thought-provoking speakers in the UK.
